Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Ben Tre – Vinh Long Homestay. (L,D) (50 km)

Our tour guide will meet you at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. Then, we will spend an hour and a half transporting to the countryside of Ben Tre- the province very famous for its sweet coconuts and all products made of coconuts. Starting your very first day of biking is to cycle from a local ferry to Vinh Long via Cai Mon and Cho Lach Districts. Both of these places are famous for their nurseries, ornamental gardens, and fruit orchards. Stop en route for lunch at a local restaurant in Cho Lach. After lunch, continue to ride to the beautiful peaceful island named An Binh. End of the day, you will rest a night at the real home-stay on the Island to explore how the real life of the people of An Binh island.

Day 2: An Binh Island – CaiBe –  Cai Lay – Saigon (B,L) (30 km)

After having breakfast with your host or hostess, you will take the boat on The Mekong River to Cai Be floating market- the special traditional market of people living along Mekong River.  Take a visit to the local family workshops to see how their life is. They make rice paper cake, coconut candy, popcorn. You also have the chance to taste honey tea as well. Then you will start biking from this village. Countryside roads for cycling mingled with fruit gardens and local villages along Mekong River from Cai Be to Cai Lay. If time permits, we continue biking on countryside roads to rural areas of My Tho where you have lunch at a local restaurant before driving back to Saigon in the late afternoon.

Day 03: Saigon – Cat Tien National Park (B,L) (30 km)

Goodbye Saigon. Your guide and your driver from Winsome Vietnam Travel will transfer you by A/C vehicle on the National Highway 1A to Cat Tien National Park. Cycle on the back roads to the park. Enjoy the scenery along the way with a lot of farms of coffee, pepper, corn, tobacco,…

Cát Tiên National Park is an important national park located in the south of Vietnam, approximately 150 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. It has an area of about 720 km² and protects one of the largest areas of lowland tropical rainforests left in Vietnam.

Cát Tiên national park was protected initially in 1978 as two sectors, Nam Cat Tien and Tay Cat Tien. Another sector, Cat Loc, was gazetted as a Rhinoceros Reserve in 1992 upon the discovery of a population of the Vietnamese Javan Rhinoceros, an occasion that brought the park into the world’s eye. The three areas were combined to form one park in 1998.

The park suffered historically during the Vietnam War when it was extensively sprayed with herbicides like the defoliant Agent Orange; however, further damage was done by logging up until the 1980s. To this day these areas have extensive bamboo and grassland cover and trees have not yet grown back.

Tonight, you will have the chance to see wild animals on a safari jeep tour. Or we call “night spotting”adventure. It is nature and everything depends on nature. If you are lucky, you will see many animals. For example what you can see are deer, wild pig, rabbit, owl, porcupine,…

Day 04: Cat Tien Park – Dalat Central Highlands (B,L) (50 km)

Riding in the park on the rainforest path. On the way to Dalat, you can take a visit to coffee and tea plantation. Vietnam is one of the two countries exports the most coffee in the world. And mostly we grow coffee in the central highlands. When arriving in Dalat, you also can ride on the back roads of pine forest and vegetable fields.

Check in your hotel and overnight in Dalat. You can visit Dalat night market after dinner.

Day 05: Dalat – Nha Trang (B,L) (100 km)

Ride on back roads to the peak of Hon Giao Pass is a real challenge for you before riding 30 km down hills to restaurant by stream for lunch (or picnic lunch on the peak). In the afernoon, scenic adventure is to ride deep into rural villages, passing sugar cane fields, enjoy picturesque countryside and learning their daily routine on dirt paths and concrete countryside roads to outskirt of Nha Trang.

Day 06: Nha Trang – Qui Nhon (B,L) (80 km)

Cycle along the coast line in the center of Vietnam. Sharing dirt paths with cow carts, transports of local motorcycle, cycling through beautiful scenery among, rice-paddy and mountainous areas. Enjoy delicious lunch by beautiful beach of Dai Lanh. In the afternoon, ride on coastal road passing fish farms, fishing village and ride through local villages, rice fields and vegetable farms. Transfer by A/C vehicle to your hotel in Qui Nhon City. Overnight here.

Day 07: Qui Nhon – Quang Ngai (B,L) (70 km)

Leaving hotel for half an hour transfer toward to East sea to hit a cycling adventure of this morning. Ride on best coastal cycling routes along back roads with hugs the cliffs of mountain range. In the afternoon, continue mingling with locals on bike through beautiful rice-paddy by quite local beaches, fishing villages, fishing boat making and fish farming. Have a transfer to Quang Ngai in late afteroon.

Day 08: Quang Ngai – Hoi An Ancient Town (B,L) (50 km)

Pay a visit to memorial of victim of massacre in 1968 before an off road biking adventure through My Son hamlet to Tam Ky fishing port. Then continue enjoy easy ride to Chau O. Stopping at restaurant in Tam Ky to enjoy lunch with famous chicken rice. This afternoon exploring hamlets on concrete paths through beautiful scenery; worked buffaloes on rice paddy and typical houses of local. Share room with local on ferries and stopping at wooden boat factory.

Day 09 : Explore Hoi An Ancient Quarter (No Cycling) (B, L)

Today will be spent in the quiet but intriguing town of Hoi An. There’s plenty to see and do here. The town is a centuries old trading port and remnants of its prowess can still be seen in the beautifully curated and restored assembly halls, temples and houses of the old trading families. Other sights include the iconic Japanese covered bridge, numerous pagodas and temples, and the bustling riverside marketplace where local specialties such as Cao Lau (a flat noodle dish), Mi Quang (rice noodle soup with pork and shrimp), Com Ga (steamed Rice with chicken) and Banh Vac (rice rose cake) are served up fresh. One of the first things you’ll notice is the numerous tailors and colourful silk shops for which Hoi An is famous.

You also can take a bicycle ride or shuttle bus (free from your hotel) to the palm tree covered Cua Dai Beach for a refreshing swim.

Evenings in Hoi An are possibly some of the most beautiful in the whole country, especially on a full moon, as shop fronts light up with colorful, traditional lanterns as you enjoy a stroll down the promenade and the Thu Bon River laps lazily at the shore. One of the unique aspects of this town is the fact that motorized vehicles are banned in the center throughout most of the day, making for a quiet and relaxing amble as you peruse the myriad shops and restaurants. If you are interested in gaming, you can join in a “Vietnamese Bingo” at ancient quarter from 7pm to 9pm every night. You’ll overnight in Hoi An. Please ask your guide to have locations of places on your Hoi An ancient quarter map.

Day 10: Hoi An – Hue (B,L) (100 km)

The route passes over the spectacular Hai Van Pass the ‘Pass of the Ocean Clouds’; the views are stunning though those who prefer to avoid the 580m climb can always take a lift in the support van. You can see the remains of US Army bunkers at the top of Hai Van Pass. Then ride down to Lang Co beach, enjoy lunch and continue through small villages, ancient burial-ground of Hue and rural scenes to the outskirts of Hue city.

 Day 11: Hue City Tour – Your next destination (No Cycling) (B,L) 

Following breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour in Hue. The day begins with a boat ride following the banks of the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, visit to the Imperial Citadel where you will explore the ruins of this grand monument to the emperors. . Continue through the quiet roads of Hue’s countryside to visit the royal tomb of Khai Dinh, a former Nguyen Emperor. In the afternoon, you will take the flight to your next destination. End of tour.
